It is not every day that you interact with the
senior leadership of a company. For 2-5 years of experienced professionals,
interacting with managers and directors is common, but chitchatting with senior
leaders is not. I had a misconception that to embark on an engaging
conversation, you should usually possess good communication skills, topics
diversity and general awareness of the organization and IT world. While these
traits help, they are not mandatory.
Publicis Sapient organized Impact film
screenings in different cities across India for its employees from October to
November 2022. The organization is visiting different cities such as Pune,
Coimbatore, Chennai, Kolkata, Patna, Lucknow, Chandigarh and Jaipur to connect
with employees working from hometowns in these areas. The organization had organized
full-day events where people shared stories, get to know colleagues nearby and
made memories. Although people have not written formal Publicis Sapient
employee feedback, LinkedIn was full of posts and pictures of the event. You
can read circle posts of different cities on the internal community website to
know more or browse through #LifeatPublicisSapient on LinkedIn to find a few.
Many leaders flew for the impact film
screening in the Bangalore office. Nigel Vaz, Sanjay Menon, Kameshwari Rao, and
other senior leaders shared their stories and interacted with people. I loved
the informal setting of a theatre ambience where we could talk casually without
boundaries. It felt great to share work impact directly with them and
understand their point of view in return. The stories and impact of leaders
were on a broader audience which awed me.
Publicis Sapient has been known for an open
work culture for the past few years. You can even dig up some Sapient GlobalMarket reviews on the work culture and collaborative work environment. Hence,
whatever the pros and cons of the organization, work culture and open
conversations with leaders always have been one of the best practices here.
